On Fri, 28 Aug 2009 13:27:20 +0100 someone who may be Tom Crispin
<http://www.fifetoday.co.uk/fife-free-press-news/All-Fifers-can-do-their.5573248.jp>,
though whether he supports the climate campers is unknown. If he
does then perhaps he would encourage the moderators to produce more
articles on it.
Mr Miliband has called for a popular mobilisation
<http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/dec/08/ed-miliband-climate-politics-environment>,
though it is not clear whether he considers the Climate Camp are an
example of a mass mobilisation he would support.
As for the locals in the area, the three Liberal Democrat
councillors had to "explain" an earlier statement about the camp
which equated the campers and the police. The Labour Mayor of
Lewisham also had to "explain" an earlier statement which equated
climate campers with West Ham/Milwall football hooligans, he didn't
mean what he had typed apparently. I doubt if these "explanations"
were made due to the responses made by "outsiders", it is far more
likely that they were made because locals were very angry with the
attitude they displayed.
Plenty of locals seem to have already taken a look and there has
been no campaign against the camp, other than the usual "funny"
remarks from the expected trolls. The campers have done as they said
they would and been in touch with locals, for example their letter
<http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/blog/2009/08/27/letter-to-blackheath-residents-from-climate-camp>.
<http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/blog/2009/08/20/open-letter-to-the-met>
is their letter to the police which includes a section on community
liaison. It is worth watching the video where this letter is read
out, an excellent send up of corporate videos.
I wonder if Mr Gordon Brown will step forward and hand pick his own
set of independent moderators to see that Britain's press only
publishes that which he deems to be unbiased?
Mr Brown says that would like people to act on climate changeset of independent moderators to see that Britain's press only
publishes that which he deems to be unbiased?
